OUR VISION

Socially responsible and environmentally friendly, Pray & Play is Phase I of IV of our multi-year vision. Phase I will pave the way for fostering intergenerational connections, bolstering community pride and creating attractive green spaces.

CREATE A LIVING LEGACY
PLANT A TREE

What is the significance of planting a tree?

Socially responsible and environmentally friendly, tree planting is a very symbolic act of community building on many levels.

Fostering intergenerational connections, children who plant a tree today with their parents & grandparents, will one day nurture that same tree in the presence of their own children.

Just as the founders of the Sikh Society of Calgary, almost 50 years ago, laid down the vision and foundation for building a place of worship, we are asking you, a new generation of Sevadars, to come forth and lay down your own roots to create a living legacy

HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE?

The Pray & Play Green Initiative is counting on you, our Sponsors, a community of Sevadars and Visionaries. With your generous support and sponsorship, we are asking you to help mobilize this initiative with one simple act, the act of planting a tree with your loved ones.

NOT JUST AN ORDINARY FUNDRAISER, THE PRAY & PLAY GREEN INITIATIVE IS AN INVITATION!

By upholding one of the three Pillars of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, Vand Ke Chakko , you are receiving an invitation to:

  • Be part of enhancing and encouraging community spirit.
  • Be engaged with our elderly and with our youth to create healthy and lasting connections.
  • Be part of proactively shaping our identities as Sikhs of Action in our community.
  • Be a witness to the collective power of the Sangat to create transformation.
